Special Award Classes

The Brittany Club of Great Britain
3 July 2021
Judge: Mrs Alison Scutcher

Delighted to be invited to judge the special award classes at this show, thank you to the club and the
exhibitors.

Special Yearling (6)
1st Yarrow’s Pesh Di Val Grossa of Bonapartist (Imp IT)
b/w roan who caught my eye when she entered the ring, liked her overall cobby shape, pretty head with that lively intelligent expression. Medium length of neck, good firm topline, well rounded ribcage, moderate angulation and a typical brisk gait holding her topline. I must also commend her excellent young handler who got the best out of her to win this good class.

2nd Graham & Yarrows Bonapartist Pickpocket
o/w male who pushed the winner hard, just felt he was a fraction longer cast, super head proportions with good expression, correct angles and well rounded ribs, strong and short loin with good firm & level topline. Another with typical brisk gait and held his topline.

3rd Southorn’s Rochus Perrine
o/w young lady with a lovely head and expression, had that cobby workmanlike look about her. I would have preferred a fraction more angulation to her front assembly but she was short in back and loin, had well rounded ribs and moved soundly.

Special Beginners (7,2abs)
1st Southorn’s Rochus Ottilie (AI)
b/w bitch, pleasing head & expression, compact & cobby, super well rounded ribs, and had good length & depth, strong firm topline, well muscled and moved well with a brisk gait.

2nd Southorn’s Rochus Nelke
Black & white tri bitch, thought her cobby and workmanlike but not quite the balance of the winner on the day. Liked her head and intelligent expression, firm level topline, good ribs, moved well but would perhaps prefer a fraction more angulation to her front.

3rd Davies Rochus Lottie
Slighter larger framed bitch but still retains workmanlike & cobby appearance, perhaps a fraction heavy in ear but has a typical expression, well rounded ribs, strong topline, moved well.

Special Open (14,2abs)
1st Mooney’s Sh Ch Challowmoon Noah
Thought this orange & white boy just ticked all of the boxes, Workmanlike & Cobby, just everything as it should be, head of correct proportions, parallel planes of skull and muzzle, moderate stop with
lively expression. He had substance without heaviness, deep chest and correct length of leg for body. Short and cobby he has super ribs, short loin and strong rear quarters. A strong topline leading to slight slope to croup. Held his topline when moving with a short brisk stride.

2nd Yarrow’s Sh Ch Bonapartist Odile o/w
Another super example of the breed and many of the same comments apply, just felt she was slightly longer cast than the winner but still workmanlike, she has the most beauitiful head & expression, correct proportions & planes, strong firm topline with slight slope to croup, with well rounded ribs, short strong loin, well muscled quarters, also held her topline when moving with a short brisk stride.

3rd Stevens Pixbrook Joyrider at Sanbosier
Liked this bitch for her overall quality and square outline. Another with a lovely head and expression, framed with correct ear set, good head planes and proportions, well made throughout, well rounded ribcage and short loin, with firm topline, moderate rear giving typically clipped brisk gait.

Junior Handler
1st No name given
I was to learn that this was the first time this young hander had handled her charge. Such rapport between them, she was well handled and controlled throughout, handled with great empathy and attention to detail. A great partnership.
